
You are not that well known in Germany yet. But anyone who spent the summer holidays in Spain will not have missed the delicious sin: churros. The little star-shaped cookies with sugar and cinnamon are simply delicious to melt away. And you can easily make it yourself at home. Ingredients for the churros
You need: 125 grams of flour, 25 grams of sugar, 2 eggs, 50 milliliters of milk, 150 milliliters of water, 35 grams of butter, 1 pinch of salt, 300 milliliters of sunflower oil, cinnamon, sugar

This is how churros are made
This is how it is done: Pour the milk, water, butter, salt and sugar into a saucepan and bring the mixture to the boil briefly while stirring constantly. Turn off the stove and take the pot off the stove. Add the flour and mix with a wooden spoon into a lumpy dough.
Place the lump of dough in a bowl and add the two eggs. Mix with a hand mixer to form a smooth churros batter. Fill the batter into a piping bag with a tail nozzle (alternative see below).

Heat the sunflower oil in a small saucepan to around 180 degrees. The temperature can be checked with an appropriate thermometer or with a wooden spoon. “If the stick is held in the hot fat and bubbles form, the fat is at the right temperature,” advises the baking experts at dr. Oetker.
Drop the dough into the hot oil in pieces about 10 centimeters long. Fry the churros for three minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on kitchen paper.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar, pour the still warm churros into it. For example, chocolate sauce goes well with the churros. Enjoy your meal!

Can you make churros without a piping bag?
If you don’t have a piping bag at home, you still don’t have to do without the delicious churros. You can get by with an empty plastic bottle. Here’s how it works: Cut off the top part of the plastic bottle. Draw a star on the lid with a pen and cut it out with a knife. Take a freezer and cut a corner of it. You put the bottleneck with the star pattern through this. Now put the dough in the homemade piping bag and spray it into the hot fat.
